Day
3 - Today
we'll visit Bandelier National Monument, where
remnants of an ancestral pueblo community exist as pueblo and cliff
dwellings. Then, enjoy some of the same views that Georgia
O'Keefe did, as we drive past Ghost Ranch
and Abiquiu.
Day 4 - We'll
travel through beautiful country to the 4-corners region
(where Utah, Colorado, Arizona & New Mexico meet) and
Colorado today, on our approach to Mesa
Verde. Stay two nights.

Day 5 - Enter Mesa Verde National Park , one of the nation's
major archaeological preserves, consisting of more than 4,000 archaeological
sites and 600 cliff dwellings. An altogether thrilling
place!

Day
6 - We
drive northerly today to Moab, Utah. There will
be an especially interesting stop at Newspaper Rock, in Canyonlands National Park, which
is a wall of ancient petroglyphs and pictographs, two forms of ancient
rock art. Stay two nights.

Day
7 - Arches
National Park is near Moab, and contains
the largest number of natural stone arches in
the country. Along with over 1,800 arches are many redrock canyons,
spires, fins and balancing rocks to photograph.
Day 8 - We're
off to Salt Lake City, about 250 miles northwest, through a real
variety of country, including an alpine pass. Farewell dinner.
Day 9 - Depart
from the West today with unforgettable memories.
