Mission San Luis Rey 
Day 1
- Arrival in San Diego, California. Accessible transfer to hotel. Get acquainted/reacquainted dinner. Stay 4 nights.

Day 2 - We’ll begin with the Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography, one of the largest in the nation, above the town of La Jolla with beautiful Pacific Ocean views, and fully accessible!

Then to Cabrillo National Monument, commemorating both Cabrillo’s explorations in 1543 and the historic lighthouse. Spectacular views of the city, harbor and ocean. Later, step back in time at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, 12 acres commemorating the first permanent settlement in California. Many restored historic, territorial buildings in addition to shops and restaurants.

Mission de Alcala 
Day 3
- We’ll tour Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá, the first of California’s missions, founded July 16, 1769. Later, a drive to the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park, home to more than 3,200 animals, most of which roam freely over expanses of land that simulate their natural habitats.

Day 4 - Tour the USS Midway, America's longest-serving aircraft carrier, with self-guiding audio tour. Then, a great sightseeing cruise on San Diego Bay with fantastic views.

Day 5
- Leave San Diego this morning, heading north. First stop is The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch, more than 50 acres of spectacular beauty! Afterward, it’s on to Mission San Juan Capistrano, famed for its beauty and the annual return of its swallows. Stay nearby, 1 night.

Day 6
- We’re off to the La Brea Tar Pits, among the world’s richest sources of ice-age fossils. Then, on to the J. Paul Getty Museum. An architectural masterpiece, it contains a wonderful, priceless art collection by such masters as Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir and Cezanne. Stay near LAX, 2 nights.

Day 7 - Hollywood! First, a Warner Brothers Studio Tour, showcasing facets of movie and television production. Then, stop at Grauman’s Chinese Theater to see the hand and footprints of many famous stars (plus the imprints of John Wayne’s fist and Jimmy Durante’s nose!), and the “Walk of Fame” sidewalk, embedded with the handprints, footprints and names of stars from many decades. Farewell dinner.

Day 8 - Depart from the West today with unforgettable memories.
